Tripura government has decided to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) on aviation turbine fuel to attract airline operators to function from Agartala Airport ( Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport ). The government has reduced the VAT tariff from 18 per cent to 16 per cent compared to neighbouring states of Guwahati/Kolkatta.
The move may result in reduction of revenue by ₹ 120 million but will benefit the state with reduction in ticket price.
